Complete and Partial Dentures

Altamonte Springs dentist Dr. George Sonbol has the skill and experience to design beautiful, lifelike dentures for our patients, making sure that each custom-crafted set looks natural and feels comfortable.

The Modern Denture Difference

Today’s modern dentures are designed to complement the shape and size of your mouth, your bone structure, and even your complexion. In the past, dentures had a flawless look that caused them to look unnatural – nobody’s teeth are that perfect!

Today, labs use photos and other images to create individual teeth that look real. Each tooth is set individually to allow for the subtle variation that occurs in nature.

Additionally, dentures are more comfortable than ever. They are flexible and designed to fit well without the need for adhesive (although some people do like the extra security that adhesive can provide).

For the perfect fit, we can discuss implant-retained dentures. These dentures snap into place, fitting on implants that have been surgically placed and allowed to integrate into the jawbone. This process ensures that you will never have an embarrassing denture slip incident.

Planning for Dentures

The first step to getting your new dentures is to call our Altamonte Springs dental office and schedule a consultation with Dr. Sonbol. He will perform an examination and discuss your needs and your goals with you. Many insurance companies provide coverage for dentures, and we’ll check your coverage so that you know what to expect.

If you do have any out-of-pocket expenses, we can discuss options like CareCredit and payment plans. We don’t want you to go without dental care because of financial worries, and we’ll help you find the solution that works the best for you.

Caring for Dentures

Dentures do require some extra care, but once you establish your routine, it won’t affect your day any more than brushing and flossing. Your dentures should be cleaned daily using a special brush and cleanser designed for dentures (since a regular toothbrush and toothpaste can be too abrasive and may scratch your dentures). Dr. Sonbol will give you recommendations.

Other important considerations:

  • Use cool or lukewarm water to rinse, clean, and soak your dentures since hot water can cause them to lose their shape.
  • Avoid letting your dentures dry out as this will also cause them to warp.
  • Don’t drop your dentures. If you do, bring them to us right away as the damage this may cause might not be immediately obvious. Wearing damaged dentures may lead to sores or bacterial infections.
