Dr. George Sonbol, DDS

What can you do to keep my new dentures from slipping?

It’s very common to be concerned about this problem, but we do have options that will stabilize your new dentures. Altamonte Springs dentist Dr. George Sonbol understands that having a sense of security about your dentures is important to your self confidence. Who wants to deal with slipping dentures when you’re in the middle of a meal with family or friends?

Advances in dental technology have not only improved the appearance of modern dentures, but contributed to their stability as well. Today’s dentures allow for a snug fit that is a vast improvement over dentures made years ago.

In the past, the only option denture wearers had for stabilizing dentures was messy adhesives that were not very effective. Dental implants helps secure both full and partial dentures and keep them right where they belong.

The implant acts as a stable base because it actually fuses with the bone and tissue in your jaw. Dr. Sonbol works with our lab to create dentures that are designed to attach to the implants, keeping the dentures securely in place.

The implants create a stable base when attached to your new dentures, and an implant-retained denture eliminates the problem of slipping or shifting. Dentures retained with dental implants also allow you the freedom to eat foods that are normally off-limits for denture wearers.

If you still have questions about dental implants, please give us a call and we'll be happy to arrange a consultation. We are sensitive to your needs and will be happy to discuss both options to determine which best fits your lifestyle and budget.
